Don't throw out that "empty" tube of Urban Decay Primer Potion!

We all know that Urban Decay's Primer Potion is one of *the best* eyeshadow primers out there. I have loved it for years and have not found a primer that comes close to offering the staying power that UDPP does. What some of us don't know though, is that although you are paying for a 0.34 oz ounce tube, you are only getting approximately 0.09 ounce of product before the tube is "empty"! After reading somewhere online (I'm sorry, it's been a while since I read it, so I can't remember exactly where) that a lot of product still remained in the "empty" tube, I decided to cut my empty tube open and see what, if anything, was left. I was completely shocked at what I found.

Once I could no longer get product out of my tube, I cut it open, top and bottom, to investigate
what I had read. Sure enough, there was a LOT left.

This is the tube, cut top and bottom:

This is a shot of the inside of the "empty" tube:

This is all the product that I scraped out of the "empty" tube:

The container that I put the remaining Primer Potion in is a 0.25 ounce jar. It filled the jar up and even went over the top a bit. The tube of UDPP is listed as 0.34 ounces. This means that you are getting less than 0.09 ounces of product before the tube seems empty and nothing else comes out on the applicator!

So, next time your tube of UPDD seems empty, try cutting it open and see how much is left. You will be surprised!

Curly Hair Solutions Tweek

I got a sample of this today and could not wait to try it out. It is marketed as a hairspray in cream form. I was hoping it was something that would help refresh hair and use on second day hair. Today wasn't a great hair day. I ended up putting it back in clips. When I got home, i took my hair out of the clips. Of course, it looked flattened out and the top was pretty flat. I squirted about a nickel-sized blob, rubbed between my hands and massaged into my roots then scrunched into the rest of my hair. I loved the results and will be buying a full sized bottle immediately!

Bored out of my mind and thinking about my hair...

I am SO tired, but I can't sleep. So much stuff is running through my head. The loudest is something crazy... my hair. I have a sick obsession with my hair (and makeup, and skincare, and blah blah blah). I tried a new curl cream yesterday (Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding) and I love it.
I didnt have to use a gel over it, which was great. I used a leave-in (Kinky Curly Knot Today) then combed through Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper really well and raked through about two quarter sized blobs of the curl cream and scrunched the crud out of my hair with a flour sack towel. Then, I plopped over night. The next morning, curls were bouncing all over and NO frizz anywhere :) It was awesome. I hope it doesnt fail me next time I try it... lol.

I am sitting here now with coconut oil on my hair. I'll sleep in it tonight and see if it does anything for my hair. I've heard of a lot of people who have had really good results using coconut oil, so I hope I am one of them :)

My new favorite eyeshadow combination

I have so much makeup that I often find myself playing around at night with different looks. Sometimes, like tonight, I'll do two different looks on each eye. I just get bored and start playing. Anyhow, I found my new favorite eye look. It consists of:

  • MAC Forest Green Pigment
  • MAC Chartreuse Pigment
  • MAC Frost Pigment
  • Stila Muse Eyeshadow

Here are a couple of pictures. Keep in mind, it was late at night, so it's not perfect. I didn't realize how clumpy the mascara (which is already in the garbage) looked until I took the pictures. I love the green look on my eyes though. I can't wait to do it tomorrow, only then, it'll look perfect!

I don't know where this blog will be headed. I might post about makeup today and tomorrow I may be posting about a deer I shot with my grandpa, so don't expect it to be completely girly :)
